Meet Krista

Hello and welcome to my practice! I earned my master’s degree in social work from the University of Washington in 2001, specializing in multi-ethnic practice with children, youth, and families. Since 2002, I have been serving individuals and families in private practice, independent and public schools and college settings throughout the greater Baltimore area.

My clinical training began with young people who were being excluded from the public school system and facing serious emotional and behavioral challenges at home. I am a “systems thinker” and this work strengthened my belief that the communities we belong to have a profound impact on us, and that our early life experiences shape us in significant ways. As a result, I approach my work with clients utilizing a trauma informed and justice minded lens that often includes families and schools.

The adults in my care are often feeling stuck in some way and seeking relief from symptoms of anxiety, depression or going through a significant life transition. Many are also healing from past wounds that remain unresolved.

My integrated and collaborative approach to treatment starts with a comprehensive understanding of your unique experiences and personal goals. I will provide that safe, supportive space necessary for the important work of exploration, deep understanding, discovery and change. Your experience matters, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.

I equally enjoy parent coaching, providing workshops for educational professionals on mental health & wellbeing, developmental topics and suicide prevention training. I have advanced training in trauma, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
